Bilateral Cooperation: Minister of State Emile Zerbo Received by Ghana’s Special Envoy to the AES

Accra: During a working visit to Accra, the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, Mr. Emile Zerbo, was received in audience on March 30, 2026, by the Special Envoy of Ghana to the AES, His Excellency Mr. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey. The meeting was marked by cordiality, solidarity, and a shared desire to further strengthen ties between Burkina Faso and the Republic of Ghana.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the discussions began with Mr. Emile Zerbo expressing his gratitude to the Ghanaian authorities for the welcome extended to his delegation. He also conveyed greetings from the Government and people of Burkina Faso to the people of Ghana.

The meeting allowed for discussions on recent developments in Burkina Faso, focusing on terrorism and development efforts. Mr. Zerbo highlighted the strong relations between Burkina Faso and Ghana, as shown by the 13th session of the Joint Cooperation Commission held in Ouagadougou in February 2026.

The talks also explored ways to enhance cooperation in strategic sectors, especially transport, with a focus on port transit, crucial for the Burkinabe economy. Mr. Zerbo addressed challenges faced by economic operators and proposed solutions to facilitate trade.

Both parties reiterated their commitment to sovereignty, Pan-Africanism, and international peace and security. They emphasized the need for the international community to combat terrorism and extremism in West Africa.
