Boulgou: The Bittou PDS launches the 2025 edition of the schistosomiasis treatment campaign. The president of the Bittou Special Delegation (PDS), Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, initiated the mass treatment campaign against schistosomiasis, also known as bilharzia, on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the CMA of Bittou. This event coincided with the traditional raising of the colors ceremony, which is held on the first Monday of each month.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, who was joined by municipal officials. The campaign aims to treat a total of 47,961 children, aged 5 to 14, by providing mass treatment against schistosomiasis. This effort is further reinforced by coupling it with a deworming initiative using albendazole.

The mass treatment campaign is scheduled to run from May 5 to May 10, 2025, targeting children within the specified age group to ensure widespread coverage and impact.
