Bobo-Dioulasso:Teachers from the Bobo 2 CEB (Basic Education Center) are urged to instill in students the values of patriotism, discipline, and hard work.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of the Bobo 2 Basic Education District (CEB), Sami Kam, called on education stakeholders on Monday, November 2, 2026, to continue the tradition of raising the national flag on the first Monday of each month. He also urged teachers to instill in students the values of patriotism, discipline, and hard work, in line with the reforms undertaken in the Burkinabe education system.
The invitation was extended during the flag-raising ceremony held at the Bobo 2 CEB office, attended by school principals, members of the executive council, community watchdogs, teachers, and students. Sami Kam commended the principals of the Accart-Ville Nord C (ANC) and Accart-Ville Nord D (AND) school districts, particularly those in the North-C and North-D zones, for organizing the event. He congratulated all educational staff for their commitment to supporting the reforms of the national education system.
For the head of the Bobo 2 Primary School District, the raising of the flag and the playing of the national anthem in the local language demonstrate the commitment of education stakeholders to the nation and their support for the new educational guidelines. He expressed satisfaction seeing students dressed in traditional "Koko-Dunda" attire, as it contributes to appreciating Burkinabè cultural heritage and promoting local languages and skills.
Referring to the launch of the reform of Burkina Faso's education system by the Prime Minister on October 17, 2026, in Kaya, Sami Kam emphasized the need to build a school system capable of training responsible citizens, skilled professionals, and productive individuals to contribute to the country's transformation and development. He proposed going beyond simply having students wear traditional clothing by gradually introducing them to the art of garment making.
His ambition is to enable the school to also become a platform for the production and promotion of local expertise. The head of the CEB expressed his wish that this initiative be repeated every first Monday of the month and announced consultations with colleagues to choose a school to host the next ceremony in December.
Addressing the students, Sami Kam urged them to demonstrate their patriotism through daily behavior, respect for teachers and parents, discipline, and diligence in their studies. "When we stand before the flag, it is our Burkina Faso that stands tall," he reminded them, calling on those involved in education to instill in younger generations a sense of patriotism and responsibility in nation-building.
