Bobo-Dioulasso:Cultural actors from the regions of Toussiana and Orodara have participated in training sessions organized by the Guiriko Regional Directorate of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism. These sessions, held on October 30 and 31, 2026, focused on equipping participants with knowledge of financing mechanisms for cultural and artistic projects.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training aimed to enhance the capacity of cultural stakeholders in mobilizing financial resources. Led by Bamiki Sidiki Soulama, the sessions explored various funding opportunities at national, sub-regional, and international levels, including grants, loans, support funds, patronage, and sponsorship. Participants were also informed about the conditions and procedures necessary to access these financial mechanisms.
The sessions emphasized the importance of formalizing operations and establishing sound administrative and financial structures within cultural organizations. Bamiki Sidiki Soulama highlighted that the credibility of cultural promoters with funding bodies depends on the quality of projects, transparency in resource management, maintenance of accounting documents, and adherence to commitments with partners. The Regional Directorate's initiative seeks to contribute to the professionalization of cultural actors and improve the structuring of the culture and arts sector in the Guiriko region.
