Boni Residents Unite for Roadside Cleanup Along RN1

Boni:Residents of Boni undertook a cleanup operation along National Route 1 (RN1) on Saturday, October 10, 2026, to enhance visibility and safety for road users by removing tall grass from the roadside.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the cleanup began at the Boni town hall and extended for about five kilometers towards Hound. This effort was part of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC) in Tuy province, involving residents from several villages in the municipality.

The operation saw the participation of the president of the Boni special municipal delegation, Arouna Tarnagda, along with heads of decentralized services and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). The High Commissioner of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, accompanied by the provincial director of the National Police, Gnaorbapiere Pierre Somda, visited the site to show support and encourage participants.

Issiaka Segda highlighted the initiative's goal to clear and widen the area around National Route 1 between Boni and Hound. He pointed out the road's winding nature, which has been the site of numerous accidents, and urged continued civic engagement from the public.
