Bougouriba Association of Women Educators Hosts Cultural Day to Honor Students’ Achievements

Bougouriba: The Di©bougou Association of Educators (AED) organized a cultural day on Saturday under the theme "Let's celebrate together our values, our culture and the excellence of our students," combining a celebration of cultural heritage with the recognition of outstanding students in the Bougouriba province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured artistic performances, a food fair, and an awards ceremony for distinguished students. Notably, artist Dagnir Gu©koumat© Dabir© from the Dj´r´ region and the traditional troupe Olbgonon from Di©bougou showcased local cultural heritage through their performances.

Several students received awards, including sponsored top female students, top male and female students in the Di©bougou Basic Education District (CEB), and students with disabilities. Recipients were given school kits and some received cash prizes. Additionally, five individuals were recognized with certificates for their support of the AED's activities.

The AED president, M©lanie Nav©/Hien, reviewed the past year's activities, which included meetings, capacity building, and practical training sessions. She emphasized the importance of unity among educators. Philom¨ne Som©/Sou, the ceremony's patron, encouraged teachers to guide students toward academic success.

Amidou Konat©, High Commissioner of Bougouriba, who presided over the event, praised the educators for their dedication to fostering excellence. He highlighted the importance of the awards in promoting healthy competition among students.

The cultural day concluded with a popular fair, "dassandaga," where visitors enjoyed a variety of local dishes.
