Bougouriba: The Bougouriba province will be represented by 97 artists and athletes at the Regional Culture Week (SRC), scheduled in Gaoua from October 16 to 18, 2025, under the theme: 'Culture, youth and transmission of social values'. This meeting will serve to designate the cultural ambassadors of the Dj´r´ region for the National Culture Week (SNC), planned in Bobo-Dioulasso in 2026. The date of August 22, 2025, marked the closing of registrations for the regional phase.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director in charge of culture, Abdoul Aziz Bationo, stated that Bougouriba will be represented both collectively and individually in several disciplines: performing arts (traditional adult dance, traditional song star, popular choir, slam, young ballet), culinary arts, plastic arts, as well as in traditional sports such as wrestling and archery.

The SRC represents a significant step in promoting local cultural heritage and the emergence of talents who will represent the region's colors on a national scale. Asked about the mobilization, the provincial director in charge of culture, Aziz Bationo, expressed his satisfaction with the commitment of cultural actors: "We truly believe that these artists are up to the task. If they weren't motivated, they wouldn't have signed up. So, the motivation is already there," he said.

According to him, preparations are continuing with local support: "We will reach out to them to really encourage them to prepare well so that they can participate in the SRC at the regional level. Also, we urge them to give their all for the perfect success of the SRC," he added.

Mr. Bationo hopes that Bougouriba will come out on top: "We hope that the province will emerge victorious in the various categories that will be competing. The other provinces will feel us. We will show what Bougouriba has to emerge victorious," he concluded.
