Boulgou High Commissioner Urges Educational Community to Tackle 2026-2027 School Year Challenges

Boulgou:The High Commissioner of Boulgou province, Constantin Domègbèguiere Dabiré, has called upon the educational community to intensify efforts in overcoming the challenges associated with the 2026-2027 school year. The upcoming academic year is notable for its focus on implementing reforms that emphasize scientific, technological, and vocational education.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Comrade Dabiré made these remarks during the monthly flag-raising ceremony at the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training in Boulgou. He congratulated education stakeholders on the successes of the 2025-2026 school year, which saw an increase in success rates across various examinations. However, he noted that these successes also present challenges in light of new government initiatives aimed at enhancing education in scientific and vocational fields.

The High Commissioner acknowledged potential difficulties in supervision and encouraged qualified teachers to support the new programs. Hippolyte Ouédraogo, the Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, reported that the province currently has 188 post-primary and secondary schools, including 112 public and 73 private institutions, alongside 23 training centers. For the 2026-2027 academic year, new series such as the F2, F3, and F4 will be introduced in three technical and vocational training establishments, with plans to open the Bagré agricultural vocational high school.

Mr. Ouédraogo mentioned that 40,384 students are registered so far, with numbers expected to stabilize. The High Commissioner also commended the Defense and Security Forces for facilitating the organization of exams and the reopening of previously closed schools due to security concerns.

Administrative and educational officials were encouraged to participate in the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation by promoting local production, wearing Faso Danfani, and maintaining workplaces. Comrade Dabiré announced a provincial conference on civic responsibility scheduled for October 20, 2026, in Tenkodogo, under the ministry responsible for Human Rights and citizenship promotion.

In celebration of World Teachers' Day on October 5, the High Commissioner paid tribute to educators for their role in developing human resources and the nation. The ceremony concluded with the recognition of the best teacher in the Nakambé region and three students from Boulgou honored during the National Day of School Excellence.
