Ouagadougou: The municipality of Boulsa convened its accountability day on Monday, June 29, 2026, focusing on the presentation of its activities' report for the fiscal years 2024 and 2025. The discussions culminated in the formation of a five-member committee tasked with monitoring the implementation of various recommendations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was moderated by the High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Ouedraogo, and included administrative authorities, representatives of civil society, technical and financial partners, and members of the public. During the proceedings, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla, presented a detailed report on the municipality's achievements, emphasizing efforts in health, education, drinking water, sanitation, and infrastructure sectors, while highlighting challenges faced during implementation.
Participants evaluated the physical and financial progress of projects, applauding the municipality's efforts but also voicing concerns such as noise pollution, land pressure on administrative areas, and traffic violations. They expressed the need for the completion of infrastructure projects like the Kalwartenga-Boulsa section, the perimeter wall of Boulsa technical high school, the multi-sports field in sector no. 1, and the Ouidi bridge.
In response, they recommended actions including the renovation of the cinema and basketball court, enhancing street lighting, and introducing penalties for traffic offenders. The establishment of a committee to oversee these recommendations marked a key outcome of the day.
Issaka Sangla conveyed his satisfaction with the quality of discussions and outcomes, extending gratitude to technical and financial partners for their support in development initiatives. He urged citizens to contribute actively to addressing local needs.
Karim Ouedraogo also expressed approval of the meeting's results, encouraging stakeholders to continue efforts for sustainable municipal development. The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, was also in attendance, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the gathering.
