Ouagadougou, The president of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the National Armed Forces and the taking up of arms ceremony, called on Monday in general mobilization for the fight against terrorism.
“No one will come to help us except ourselves and that is important for us to understand, when we talk about the need to mobilize, to look in the same direction and to engage in this fight (against the terrorism) ”, declared President Kaboré.
He was speaking Monday, at the end of the commemorative ceremony for the 61 years of the National Armed Forces (FAN).
For the Burkinabè Head of State, faced with the terrorism which is raging in the country, it is up to Burkinabè as a whole to lead the fight for the defense of the territory.
According to him, “no one will do it alone, we will do it together or not at all.”
Roch Marc Kaboré recalled that “the Army is 61 years old with new challenges, with necessary readjustments if we want to defeat the terrorist hydra”.
The Burkinabè president is convinced that the fight against terrorism “will be long and difficult, but we must be armed with courage, commitment, solidarity and interest in our country”.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 61 years of the National Armed Forces, a ceremony of taking up arms and decoration of 175 recipients of the Combatant’s Cross was organized on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Place de la Nation in Ouagadougou.
This distinction made it possible to reward the personnel and military units of the National Armed Forces.
