According to the weekly update on the national security situation of which AIB received a copy, Monday evening, it is on the basis of precise information that units of the National Armed Forces (FAN) tracked down for several days terrorists who carried out terrorist attacks. attacks against the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the populations in the Cascades region.

“The group of terrorists was intercepted while they were clearly preparing an attack. The assault given by the engaged units made it possible to neutralize a dozen terrorists, ”the army document informs.

The same text specifies that “part of the enemy’s logistics were destroyed and the other part recovered”.

Among the material recovered, adds the army, “there are several weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, several uninitiated improvised explosive devices, means of communication and motorcycles”.

It appears that the units continued search operations to secure the area and find any accomplices.

The National Armed Forces of Burkina Fado are continuing operations to secure the national territory through the activities carried out within the Force Groups.
