Fada N’Gourma, Following the call of the U Gulmu-fi movement, the city of Fada N’Gourma observed a dead city day on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the large market of Fada N’Gourma, schools, transport companies, administrative services, drinking establishments and restaurants closed their doors to respond to the call of the U Gulmu-fi movement which demanded to again, the improvement of the living conditions of the populations of the Eastern region.
The secretary of the movement U Gulmu-fi Bouama Michel Ouoba, indicated that their organization has four points of demands, one of which relates to the road network in the region which is the most defective in the country, according to him.
He also referred to the resurgence of insecurity in the region. According to Bouama Michel Ouoba, 2/3 of the eastern region are unreachable because of insecurity.
Besides ; he described the health situation, which is very precarious, especially at the CHR in Fada, where the building is dilapidated, the medical-technical equipment is screaming and the medical staff insufficient.
Finally, he found it unfair that their locality, which has been producing phosphate for forty years, cannot benefit from any fallout despite the existence of social responsibility.
The regional secretary of the National Union of Human and Animal Health (SYNTSHA) of East Moussa Ouédraogo painted black the health situation in the region.
“Take a tour of the maternity ward of the Fada Regional Hospital Center; you would see women on the ground. The CHR is in dire need of medical-technical platform to the point where the medical specialists affected have been forced to withdraw. An infrastructure construction site at the CHR has been overdue for five years, ”he said.
The president of the traders of the Grand Marché and the Yaar de Fada N’Gourma Kader Thiombiano, welcomed the organization of this dead city day.
According to him, the city of Yendabili was already dead. “We lose at the front almost at any time our brothers who are backup security. Insecurity is growing exponentially around Fada N’Gourma, ”said Kader Thiombiano.
Emmanuel Ouoba asked the authorities to have pity on the suffering populations. “We challenge them because we are Burkinabé and we have rights. We are not going to negotiate these rights because they are their duties ”.
He also called on the daughters and sons of the region to have a look at the development of Gulmu.
“This region, if we abandon it, we will bequeath nothing to our sons. If we do not bequeath anything to our sons, it is we who have failed, ”he stressed.
