Dori: Club Sahel verdure educates students through reforestation

Dori, The Sahel Verdure Club (CSV) organized a green march in Dori on Saturday, in the company of students from the school of the former Non-formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF ) punctuated by a plantation of shady species in the establishment’s grove.

“It is an opportunity to raise awareness and challenge students, teachers and parents on the need to protect the environment through the slogan ” a tree, a life, a lot of good ””, a declared the president of Club Sahel Verdure (CSV) Mohamed Ouédraogo.

According to Mr. Ouédraogo, this activity introduced children to environmental protection through practical exercises in planting and protecting trees.

The green march was placed under the theme: “The participation of the school world in the protection of the environment”.

A demonstration of symbolic tree planting was made through the planting of 33 plants, composed mainly of shady species, in the school grove.

In order to extend the activity at home, each student received a plant. “It is no longer a question of planting trees in the open air and abandoning them at the mercy of the animals” indicated the regional director of the environment, green economy and climate change of the Sahel, Bernard Bingo. .

According to him, his services provided the school with protective equipment consisting of rolls of netting, stakes and wire.

He urged the students to take care of the seedlings planted in the school grove.

The beneficiaries are committed to maintaining the trees planted in their grove and just like those they are going to plant at home.

This edition is the third of its kind and concerned in addition to the ex-CEBNF school in Dori, the schools of Kamsonguin A, B and C, those of Dassasgo A, E and F in Ouagadougou.

The first edition took place at the Petit Paris school in Dori and the second at the D school in Dori and in the schools of Karpala A, B and C.
