Bobo-dioulasso: The 52nd graduating class of active-duty non-commissioned officer trainees of the Gendarmerie (ENSOG) completed their training this Friday at the Ouezzin-Coulibaly camp in Bobo-Dioulasso. The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of State, Minister of War and Patriotic Defense, Major General Clestin Simpor, and held under the patronage of the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Commander Isma«l Sombi.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Major General Clestin Simpor expressed his approval of the graduation of the 52nd class of non-commissioned officer students of the gendarmerie, known as "Kawgou," meaning "victory" in Fulfulde. He highlighted that these new non-commissioned officers will enhance the national gendarmerie's operational capabilities, particularly in addressing territorial defense and public safety challenges. He encouraged the graduates to align with Burkina Faso's current dynamics and exhibit loyalty, fidelity, discipline, courage, and determination in their duties.
Colonel Issa Yaguibou, Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie, stressed that the training emphasized moral education, the development of discipline, and adherence to military ethics and professional conduct. He congratulated the trainees on their exceptional performance and wished them successful careers, urging them to protect their country with honor and dedication.
Class representative Jean Donal Zongo, on behalf of his peers, pledged their commitment to defending the nation, asserting their readiness to undertake missions even at great personal risk. He emphasized their collective faith in the effectiveness of their training and their determination to uphold their responsibilities.
The 52nd class, which began its training on October 26, 2024, consists of 300 non-commissioned officer trainees, including 15 women. After two years of rigorous training, they completed the program with an overall average of 15/20. The ceremony featured speeches and the presentation of Sergeant's epaulettes to the newly graduated officers.
