Ouagadougou: Members of the Burkina Faso Government, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, convened a direct dialogue with diplomatic representatives to discuss the national situation, focusing on security, defense, diplomacy, economy, and humanitarian actions. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and the Minister of Economy and Humanitarian Action.According to Burkina Information Agency, the dialogue aimed to provide the diplomatic community with accurate information and address any misconceptions regarding the national situation. This meeting, the fourth of its kind, underscores the government's commitment to transparency and open communication with its international partners.The session, led by the Minister of State and Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, sought to correct media misrepresentations affecting Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. HE Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE highlighted the importance of providing diplomats with the right information to guide their cooperation efforts with Burkina Faso.Brigadier General Celestin SIMPORE expressed concern over disinformation on social media, which he argued undermines anti-terrorism efforts. He suggested that such misinformation can mislead people into viewing terrorism as a geopolitical tool manipulated by certain powers.The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Youssef SLAOUI, applauded the Burkinabe government's transparency and urged diplomats to take advantage of the opportunity for direct and sincere exchanges. He emphasized the importance of obtaining first-hand information to foster mutual trust and cooperation.
