Guiriko: The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, inaugurated the National Center for Support to the Artisanal Transformation of Cotton (CNATAC) in the country's economic capital. The center, built at a cost of 1.5 billion FCFA, aims to enhance the quality and competitiveness of cotton products.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister, representing the President of Faso, emphasized that CNATAC is an opportunity hub for young people and artisans to acquire essential skills. The initiative aligns with President Captain Ibrahim Traore's vision of encouraging Burkinabe to focus on finished products from locally produced raw materials.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of leveraging local resources for development and advocated for the replication of such centers across all regions of Burkina Faso. The center, a product of collaboration between Burkina Faso and Italy, offers training in weaving, tailoring, and dyeing.

Serge Poda, the Minister of Trade and Handicrafts, expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister and technical partners for promoting Burkinabe cotton. He noted that the center will help reduce raw cotton exports, a key economic pillar, and called on artisans to utilize the center for innovation.

Emanuela Forcella, representing the Italian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, lauded the project's completion as a testament to Burkinabe resilience. She applauded the collaboration that overcame challenges during the center's development and expressed Italy's pride in contributing to its success.
