Abuja: The Burkina Faso Red Cross donates spare parts for four boreholes to the special municipal delegation of Diapaga. The First Vice-President of the Diapaga Municipal Special Delegation, Soali Ouali, received spare parts for four successful hand-operated boreholes donated by the Burkina Faso Red Cross this Thursday, July 23, in Diapaga. This donation is part of the implementation of the ECHO PPP program, designed to address the repair or rehabilitation needs of community hand pumps for the benefit of the populations in the six sectors of Diapaga (host communities and internally displaced persons).

According to Burkina Information Agency, these parts, worth approximately 5 million CFA francs, consist of rods, pipes, cylinders, drill heads, drill bodies, drill arms, visibility panels, and joints. They are funded under the Red Cross drinking water access program.

In handing over these items, the provincial president of the Tapoa Red Cross, Ounteni Tadja Couldiati, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting the Diapaga community in its resilience and rebuilding efforts. This gesture was welcomed by the first vice-president of the Diapaga special delegation, Soali Ouali, who emphasized that it will help alleviate the suffering of more than 6,000 people.

Indeed, the municipality of Diapaga is facing significant pressure on its water resources, exacerbated by the presence of internally displaced persons. Access to drinking water therefore remains a major challenge for the health and dignity of the population, the local official continued. "Water being the foundation of life, this gesture is very timely. Thank you to the Red Cross for this act of solidarity," concluded Soali Ouali.

For his part, the provincial president of the Red Cross, Ounteni Tadja Couldiati, stated: 'Our mission is to provide assistance where suffering is greatest. Our donation is an act of humanity.' He concluded by emphasizing that 'a well means a school that remains open; it means a woman who saves time; it means a community that lives with dignity.'

It should be noted that the Red Cross has, to its credit, the construction of nearly four boreholes for the benefit of the commune of Diapaga.
