Ouagadougou: Residents of the commune of D©ou, in the province of Oudalan, gathered in Ouagadougou on Saturday for a significant session of reading the Holy Quran. The event was organized to implore Allah for peace, the complete reconquest of the national territory, and the protection of the country's fighting forces and authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the director of the session, Cheick Moaz Ou©draogo, who is also the guide of the Sufi community, stated, "We read the Quran 21 times, including 15 readings for peace and the reconquest of the national territory, three for the protection of the fighters, and three others for the protection of the President of Faso and the government." He emphasized the need for the Burkinabe people to cultivate forgiveness, mutual respect, and social cohesion, highlighting that prayer should be accompanied by a sincere commitment to living together to promote a lasting return of peace.

Samuel Kalkoumdo, advisor to the President of Faso on social cohesion issues, attended the ceremony and commended the initiative. He described it as an example of patriotism and national solidarity. He urged the people of Burkina Faso to prioritize the nation's interests over ethnic and religious differences by fostering unity, love of country, and rejecting any form of division or manipulation that could benefit terrorism.

Kalkoumdo expressed hope that this spiritual mobilization would inspire other communities across the country to strengthen social cohesion and support efforts to reclaim national territory and restore peace. He noted that only a nation united around the values of patriotism and fraternity could thwart attempts at destabilization and preserve Burkina Faso's sovereignty.

The 7th edition of this Holy Quran reading session brought together the sons and daughters of D©ou, along with participants from several other communities who came to support the initiative.
