Dijon: The Authentic Flavors of Africa association is proudly representing Burkina Faso at the International and Gastronomic Fair in Dijon, France, from November 1 to 11, 2025. Alongside over 400 exhibitors from around the world, the association is showcasing traditional Burkinabe dishes, marking its first participation as a significant source of national pride.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Olivia Bayala, the founder of the association, expressed immense joy and a great sense of responsibility in participating in the Dijon International Gastronomic Fair. She emphasized the pride of being part of this event for the first time. The fair provides visitors the opportunity to taste and purchase traditional dishes such as Babenda, Zamne, to, rice pudding, and bean fritters. This participation also serves as a platform for exchange and partnerships aimed at strengthening the international promotion of Burkinabe cuisine.
Ms. Bayala noted that the Burkina Faso stand is consistently busy. As the sole representative of West Africa at the fair, it attracts nationals from the sub-region and many visitors eager to explore the culinary richness of Burkina Faso, often referred to as the land of upright men. "Our local dishes are generating a lot of interest and are very popular with the public, which encourages us to continue this wonderful adventure of promoting Burkinabe culture and gastronomy," she stated contentedly.
The organizer expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for its support, as well as to Jocelyne Herbert Thonbiano, delegate of the High Council of the Burkinabe Community of Dijon, and its members for their continued support. By participating in this major event, the Authentic Flavors of Africa association aims to contribute to the promotion of local consumption and to showcase Burkinabe culinary expertise beyond its borders.
