Burkina/Kaya: 2024-2025 school year: schools reopen

Like students in other localities in Burkina Faso, those in Kaya returned to school on Tuesday, October 1 , 2024, for the start of the 2024-2025 school year, AIB noted.After the teachers who returned to schools during the administrative period on September 16, it is the turn of the students to return to class this Tuesday, October 1, 2024.Accompanied by their parents or not, the children, mostly without bags, invaded their respective schools and establishments from seven o'clock on this first day back at school. In the courtyard of the Kouim-Kouli public primary schools, the pupils in groups play games or chat, waiting for their teachers to call them.As for the teachers, they are busy making contact with the students. At 7:30 am, the teacher of the CM2 class of the Kouim Kouli C school sets the tone by calling the roll of the students who enter the classroom obediently.For the director Kouim-kouli C, Panongobnin Ouédraogo, his school is mainly made up of internally displaced students (IDS), the retur n to school is taking place normally . "Today, we will call the students and give them the list of school supplies. Classes will be effective in the following days," he confided.The start of the school year in Wemtenga schools, where the same atmosphere of meeting reigned, was visited by the regional directors (DR) of the Centre-North and provincial directors of Sanmatenga in charge of education as well as the Head of the basic education district of Kaya 1, Isidore Dianda, who came to see the effectiveness of the start of the school year.Dianda said he was satisfied with the effectiveness of the start of the school year in the schools in his area. Speaking about non-functional schools, the district head was reassuring. 'Parents of students have approached us for the reopening of their school.
