Ouagadougou: On the occasion of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, the Minister of Infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, led a sanitation operation this Saturday, April 12, in his home neighborhood of Wayalguin, east of Ouagadougou. Accompanied by local youth and his colleagues, he actively participated in cleaning the gutters of the Eastern Interchange, which were clogged with waste.

According to Burkina Information Agency, equipped with shovels, brooms, and wheelbarrows, the volunteers removed a significant amount of rubbish in an effort to prevent flooding and promote the maintenance of public spaces. "Civic responsibility begins with small actions. As a son of Wayalguin, I wanted to set an example," Minister Sorgho said.

For the minister, this initiative is part of the citizen participation policy advocated by the authorities, recalling that urban cleanliness is a collective responsibility and also aims to raise public awareness of the importance of regular maintenance of their immediate environment. Minister Sorgho also emphasized that this symbolic action is, above all, a call for civic-mindedness and civic engagement. "It's not enough to point the finger at the state. Civic-mindedness begins with simple gestures, such as keeping one's immediate surroundings clean," he expressed, sharing his pride at participating in this activity in his own neighborhood.
