Ouagadougou: The government dissolved, on Wednesday, the Support Fund for the Informal Sector (FASI), the Support Fund for the Promotion of Employment (FAPE) and the Support Fund for youth initiatives (FAIJ) to enable the Faso Kuna-Wili fund to effectively accomplish its missions.Created in the Council of Ministers of October 18, 2023, the operation of the Faso Kuna-Wili fund, should lead to the extinction of the Support Fund for the informal sector, the Support Fund for youth initiatives and the Support Fund for promoting employment. The dissolution of these funds will, according to the Council of Ministers, allow Faso Kuna-Wili to support self-employment initiatives for young people, women and actors in the informal economy through innovative products. The cessation of the three funds de facto leads to the end of the contracts of all the staff concerned. The government noted that the operating costs of these funds were higher than the budget reserved for financing the beneficiaries' projects. This is why the government has instructed the ministers responsible for the matter to take appropriate measures for better management of the assets and personnel of these funds. It should be remembered that the creation of the National Financing Fund called the 'Faso Kuna-Wili' Fund follows the reforms initiated within the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment in 2023.Source: Burkina Information Agency
