Burkina: ‘The real heroes of the Nation are women’, Captain Traoré to the women of the green brigade

Captain Ibrahim Traoré on Thursday paid tribute to women, 'true heroes of the Nation', some of whom have become IDPs and heads of households because they lost their children, their husbands in the war imposed by the terrorists.'This is an opportunity for us to magnify them because we celebrate heroes every day, those who fall on the battlefield but in reality it is women who are the real heroes,' said Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in an RTB report.Captain Ibrahim Traoré visited the women of the green brigade to 'pay tribute to them and through them, to all the women who fight here in Burkina Faso and throughout Africa and throughout the world'.This visit is part of the celebration of International Women's Day.'Today, we are at war in Burkina, which means that many women are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), heads of households because they have lost their children, their husbands. So, that means they have become heroes of this Nation,' he insisted. For him, in the absence of their husbands and children leaving for the front, it is they who bear what happens at the rear, who hold the whole family together.'So, this is what we came to convey to them as messages and through them, to all the Burkinabè women who are heads of households, who fight on a daily basis. Those who get up first in the morning and are the last to sleep at night,' he concluded.Source: Burkina Information Agency
