The military garrison commemorated the 63rd anniversary of the National Armed Forces (FAN) in Fada N'Gourma this Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in the city of Yendabili.
Placed under the theme “Defense Forces, Internal Security Forces, Defense Forces for the Homeland, together for the pursuit of the reconquest of our national territory”, the commemoration of this 63rd FAN took place in a context where Burkina Faso has seen a war imposed on it for eight (08) years.
Despite our context, the celebration of the FAN anniversary is very important for us soldiers, suggested the commander of the 6th military region, Lieutenant-Colonel Éric Dabiré. Because, according to him, it is an opportunity for the armed forces to express their gratitude to the highest authorities and to all those who support them through actions with the aim of improving the working conditions of the soldier, marking cohesion and calling to unity between the Armed Forces.
It is also an opportunity for us to make commitments with the people and superiors in order to continue the contract for which we have our reason for being, added Commander Dabiré.
They distinguished themselves for their dedication to the nation, their professional value, and the quality of their services. These are nine (09) soldiers who received military medals during this celebration for their loyal services rendered to the Nation. The recipient of the military medal, Captain Aboubakar Coulbaly, also commander of the 34th Inter -Army Regiment (RIA), said he was very honored to receive this distinction which is a mark of recognition from the hierarchy and the highest authorities. from the country. This medal, which he dedicates to all the FDS and VDP, is an invitation to more commitment and more hard work, he said.
“Don’t give up. Don't find an alibi to stay behind. Those who can accompany, come, the door of the VDP is open to you. We still need you. Victory is no longer far away”, is the message from the governor of the Eastern region, Colonel Hubert Yaméogo, to the veterans and former soldiers of the locality.
