Tenkodogo: The Head of Mission of the Presidency of Faso for the Nakambe region, Adaman Kambone, presided on Tuesday in Tenkodogo over the official handover ceremony of a donation of seven tons of cement to the Faso Mebo agency, offered by the Association of Natives of Tenkodogo in Napoli (ARTN), based in Italy.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held in the presence of officials from the Faso Mebo agency in Tenkodogo, several local authorities, and members of the Burkinabe diaspora. The ARTN was represented by a six-member delegation led by its president, Sekou Diao, also known as the Naaba of Napoli. Also present was Emmanuel Sorgho, known as Manou, Secretary General of the Nakambe Employers' Association.
The president of ARTN stated that this donation is part of the dynamic of supporting local development and urban beautification actions, in response to the call launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, urging all Burkinabe, including those in the diaspora, to commit to improving the living environment in the cities of the country.
'We came this morning to deliver this donation of seven tons of cement on behalf of all the members and supporters of our association. We heard the call of the President of Faso and decided to respond with a concrete action,' said Mr. Diao.
The president of ARTN also commended the efforts undertaken within the framework of the Faso Mebo initiative, noting the noticeable changes in the city of Tenkodogo. He specified that this gesture constitutes an initial contribution and that the association intends to strengthen its commitment in the future.
"Upon our return to Italy, we will intensify awareness-raising efforts among Burkinabe living in Naples in order to mobilize more resources. We plan to return with a larger donation," he stated, inviting all Burkinabe in the diaspora to actively participate in local development initiatives.
For his part, Adaman Kambone, the Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso for the Nakambe region, praised the ARTN's initiative, which he presented as an example of civic engagement and national solidarity. He encouraged other diaspora associations to follow this example, reminding them that every contribution contributes to the collective development effort.
Through this donation of seven tons of cement to the Faso Mebo agency in Tenkodogo, the Association of Tenkodogo Natives in Napoli reaffirms its commitment to the development of its hometowns and its support for the call for national mobilization launched by the Head of State.
