Burkinabe Industrial Engineers Form Association to Boost Sector

Kadiogo: The Burkinabe Association of Professionals in Industrial Engineering and Related Trades (ABPMGIA) held its first general assembly on Saturday in Ouagadougou. The association aims to promote the industrial sector and contribute to the development and advancement of industrial engineering technologies in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during the meeting, participants unanimously adopted the internal regulations and approved the association's statutes. The scientific committee and executive board were also established. For the chairman of the organizing committee, who is also the chairman of ABPMGIA, Joseph Ramde, this general assembly marks the culmination of a process and paves the way for the eventual creation of a federation of engineers in Burkina Faso.

He mentioned that the association aims to "bring together and organize the industrial sector, support the State in decision-making, the design of industrial projects and the development of the country's industrial strategies." He emphasized that industrial engineering is an "invisible but essential pillar of the national economy, guaranteeing the efficiency, innovation and competitiveness of Burkinabe industry."

The event's chairman, Aboudaye Compaore, praised the initiative and encouraged members to produce "solid technical recommendations, to support companies in maintenance, quality and innovation, and to create a powerful network of local expertise," believing that the association could become "an additional compass for decision-makers." He also expressed his willingness to support ABPMGIA in its technical deliberations and to share his experience.

ABPMGIA is a non-political and non-profit association that brings together technicians, engineers, scientists, and other professionals in industrial engineering and related trades in Burkina Faso.
