For the second time in 12 years of existence, Morocco is hosting the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U23), the route to the Olympic Games (OG) football.
Morocco had already hosted the inaugural CAN U23 in 2011, which served as a qualifying event for London 2012.
Next Saturday, the African teams' journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games men's football event will begin. The official competition poster has already been launched with fanfare.
The opening match of the competition will be played on Saturday in Rabat between Morocco, host country, and Guinea. The poster has been carefully crafted to depict a footballer's hand holding the coveted trophy, which also embodies the quest for continental supremacy.
In the logo of the competition, the green rays of the illustration symbolize the green lawns of Africa, while the red displays the passion of the competing nations as well as the colors of the national flag of the host country.
Two stadiums will be used for the competition. These are the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat and the Ibn-Batouta stadium, better known as the Grand Stade de Tanger.
