Ouagadougou: On the morning of May 23, 2025, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, the President of Faso and Head of State, visited the Tanguet-OUATTARA military hospital located within the Ouezzin-COULIBALY camp. His visit aimed to encourage the staff and provide guidance for improving the care of the wounded and sick.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Traor© toured various departments of the hospital, including the dental clinic, medical imaging, and the surgical department, which houses three operating blocks and a resuscitation room. He assessed the working conditions, acknowledged the efforts, and reviewed the services provided by the staff at this military hospital, which has an expandable capacity of 60 beds.
The tour was led by Colonel Armel Poda, the director of the military hospital, who expressed honor in receiving a visit from the nation's highest authority. Colonel Poda emphasized that the visit served as a powerful symbol of encouragement for all military health services in Burkina Faso and showed solidarity with combatants receiving medical care.
Following the tour, Captain Traor© conducted a debriefing session with the staff. He issued firm instructions for the construction of new infrastructure and the acquisition of advanced equipment to enhance the hospital's medical technical platform. The President expressed his concern, stating, "It is not normal for a fighter to suffer at the front, and when he happens to be injured, he still suffers in the hospital during his treatment." He congratulated the staff and outlined guidelines for future investments to transform the medical center into a benchmark facility in the coming years.
