Namentenga: The cell of teachers and supervisors of the Catholic Church of Boulsa is launching the written tests of the mock exams for the primary school certificate (CEP), first cycle (BEPC), and the Baccalaureate for the 2026 session at the provincial high school of Boulsa. This initiative aims to better prepare nearly 1,000 candidates for the national exams.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Denis Ouiya, the head of the cell and a History-Geography teacher at the provincial high school, specified that the 10th edition of the mock exams includes 450 candidates for the CEP, 271 for the BEPC, and 107 for the Baccalaureate, series A and D. The primary objective is to place candidates in realistic exam conditions to assess their knowledge, identify weaknesses, and build confidence for the upcoming official exams.
Mr. Ouiya emphasized the voluntary commitment to enhancing candidates' success chances, highlighting the initiative's role in supporting students' academic preparation. The organization has mobilized over a hundred teachers and supervisors to oversee monitoring, marking, and administrative tasks. Results are expected on April 15, 2026, followed by marking sessions in the exam classrooms.
The mock exams replicate the conditions of national exams, including written, oral, and physical tests, and integrate pedagogical innovations such as the competency-based approach (CBA) to the BEPC, marked by the elimination of the dictation test. In the final year of high school (Terminal A), candidates began with the philosophy exam. Additionally, the participation of a visually impaired candidate in the BAC A showcases the inclusivity of the initiative.
Mr. Ouiya acknowledged the financial challenges of organizing the exams but praised the stakeholders' voluntary commitment, which alleviated the financial burden. He expressed gratitude to the provincial educational authorities, particularly the directorates responsible for secondary and primary education, as well as the teachers and supervisors of the Catholic Church for their support.
