Catholics on Pilgrimage for Peace and Children’s Education in Kokologho

Kokologho: The sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy in Kokologho vibrated on Sunday, March 22, to the rhythm of the prayers of Catholic faithful for peace and the education of children, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the pilgrims, who came in large numbers, placed their intentions under the sign of peace and the strengthening of social cohesion in Burkina Faso. Under the theme "The Education of Children in the Family," this year's pilgrimage, according to Father Jean-Marie Korbeogo, parish priest of Saint Ther¨se of the Child Jesus in Kokologho, is of paramount importance. During this Lenten season, a time of journeying towards Easter, the prelate invited the faithful to intensify their acts of confession and submission to God.

Through meditation on this theme, the Catholic community expresses its civic commitment to a better future for Burkina Faso. The Eucharistic celebration of the day, the culmination of a week marked by prayer vigils, was the high point of this spiritual gathering.

In his homily, Father Korbeogo urged Christians to be peacemakers, cultivating cohesion with other religious denominations. He particularly emphasized the crucial role of children's education within families, presented as the indispensable foundation for building a peaceful and united nation.
