Ouagadougou: The CEB officially launches its cultural season under the banner of social cohesion. The Bassi Basic Education District (CEB) inaugurated its cultural activities for the 2026 season at the Sorogo Public Primary School, focusing on themes of social cohesion and communal living.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Basile Sawadogo, who heads the sports, culture, and leisure organization office at the CEB primary school in Bassi, officially initiated the 2026 cultural season on April 8, 2026. The launch event emphasized the moral and educational values these activities impart, which Sawadogo noted have a beneficial impact on young students.
During the launch, Salif Ou©draogo, Secretary General of the cultural office, outlined the rules and scoring criteria for the various performances. He urged participants to adhere to fair play and respect the guidelines to ensure the smooth progression of competitions, which include traditional dance, play back, theatre, culinary arts (local dishes), and recital.
Eighteen schools are set to participate in the elimination phase, culminating in a final event at the end of April. The ongoing football competitions, which began on January 14, 2026, are also continuing across different competition zones.
