Chad requests support from Burkina to take control of ASECNA


Ouagadougou: A delegation from the Chadian government, received in audience this Wednesday by the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, requested the support of Burkina Faso to run for the position of director general of the Agency for Safety and Air Navigation in Africa (ASECNA), learned the AIB from the presidential communications service.

The Chadian delegation, led by the Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Mahamat Assouyouti Abakar, discussed with President Ibrahim Traoré his country’s candidacy for the General Directorate of the Agency for Safety and Navigation Air Force in Africa (ASECNA), asking for its support.

‘It is above all a candidacy for the Sahel region. I would like to thank the President for his unequivocal support,’ indicated the Chadian minister quoted by the communications department of the Faso presidency.

The head of the Chadian delegation also translated to Captain Ibrahim Traoré the message of brotherhood and friendship from the Chadian Presi
dent, General Mahamat Idriss Déby.

‘Chad has always been on the side of the Burkinabè people. In pursuit of this legitimate aspiration of the Burkinabe people for economic and social development, His Excellency the Head of State, General Mahamat Idriss Déby has charged us with conveying his firm support for the Burkinabe Transition,’ declared the Minister in charge of the Economy of Chad, Mr. Abakar.

Mr. Abakar indicated that Chad came to seek support from Burkina Faso for his candidacy for the position of director general of ASECNA. For the Minister in charge of the Economy of Chad, ‘Chad’s candidacy for ASECNA’.

Bilateral relations were also discussed during discussions between Captain Ibrahim Traoré and the Chadian delegation. Mahamat Assouyouti Abakar, reassured that relations between Burkina and Chad are centuries-old and in good shape.
