Ouagadougou: The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Moussa Diallo, conducted an official visit to the 2nd Military Region, based in Bobo-Dioulasso. During the visit on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, he visited war-wounded soldiers, interacted with young participants from the Faso Mªbo Holiday Camp, and held discussions with military officials and troops stationed in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Major General Diallo's visit included a stop at the Tanguet-Ouattara military hospital located at the Ouezzin Coulibaly camp. There, he conveyed the solidarity and recognition of the military hierarchy and the Nation to the soldiers injured in the line of duty, acknowledging their sacrifices in defending the national territory. Colonel Ibrahim Dao expressed that the visit served as an honor and encouragement for both the medical personnel and the wounded. He noted that such visits significantly boost the morale of the patients and motivate the staff to enhance the care provided.
Following the hospital visit, Major General Diallo addressed young attendees of the Faso Mªbo Holiday Camp, expressing satisfaction with their engagement, particularly regarding themes of patriotism, discipline, and resilience. He also met with senior military leaders to assess the security situation and ongoing missions within their jurisdiction. Diallo emphasized the importance of identifying and addressing operational gaps to strengthen the region's defense capabilities, aiming for decisive actions post-rainy season.
