Manega: His Excellency Naaba Sigri, the customary chief of Manega, marked the beginning of the new year on Saturday with rituals paying homage to the spirits of ancestors and Naaba Ziid-Wende, the supreme Entity. This event, known as "Nabasga," allowed the chief and his court to express gratitude for the past year's successful agricultural season and blessings, while also seeking abundance for the upcoming year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the celebration took place in the royal palace of Manega, emphasizing tradition, social cohesion, and respect for ancestral values. The event drew several traditional chiefs from other areas, administrative and religious authorities, as well as a large number of people from Manega and nearby villages who came to show their respect.
In his address, Naaba Sigri urged the community to foster unity, solidarity, and adherence to cultural values, which he deemed vital for the harmonious development of the Ourgou-Manega commune. Through this event, the traditional leadership of Manega highlighted its pivotal role in safeguarding traditions and promoting social cohesion.
Naaba Sigri succeeded the renowned Pacere Titinga (Naaba Panentougri), a prominent Moaga cultural figure, pioneer of bendrology, and promoter of the Belemyengre museum in Manega.
