Civil Servants Triumph in Fraternity Cup at Morolaba

Tapoa: The civil servants' team won the final of the Morolaba Municipal Fraternity Cup on Saturday, February 14, 2026, defeating the village team 1-0 in a penalty shootout. The event took place on the grounds of School A, with various administrative, military, religious, and traditional authorities in attendance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prefect of the Morolaba Department, Gervais Mien, expressed appreciation for the dedication of the organizing committee. He also acknowledged the significant role played by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the successful execution of the event. Mien highlighted the importance of sport as a means to foster social cohesion and unity between state employees and the local community.

The sponsors of the competition, Djakalia Traore, who also serves as the president of the Morolaba Departmental Union of Cotton Producers, and N'Golo Dao, a traditional chief, applauded the initiative. They regarded it as an opportunity to unite the community and reinforce social bonds.

The champions were awarded a trophy, two sets of jerseys, a ball, and an envelope containing 15,000 FCFA. The village team, as runners-up, received a set of jerseys and an envelope containing 10,000 FCFA. The FDS was recognized with the fair play prize, accompanied by an envelope containing 10,000 FCFA.
