Tapoa: The province mobilizes 5,040,460 CFA francs in contributions. The High Commissioner of Tapoa, Ren e Karambiri, was at the Diapaga town hall on Monday, February 16, 2026, to review the province's participation in the national solidarity initiative DEME SIRA. He was accompanied by the provincial director of Family and Solidarity for Tapoa, Lassane Sawadogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, contributions for the province totaled 5,040,460 CFA francs, including 4,867,660 CFA francs in cash and 172,800 CFA francs in kind, consisting of food and non-food items. Launched on February 6th in Tapoa by the High Commissioner, the initiative saw widespread mobilization of the population, thanks to collection mechanisms established by prefects, directors and heads of services, as well as opinion leaders and association representatives. In just one week, the population had taken ownership of this locally driven initiative.
According to the provincial director of Family and Solidarity, Lassane Sawadogo, these funds collected will be used to support vulnerable people, to educate orphans and indigent people, as well as to provide them with care in hospitals, in line with the National Charter of Solidarity.
The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to all socio-professional groups in Tapoa for this act, this surge of solidarity which once again highlights social cohesion, mutual support, and solidarity. He indicated that those who have not yet contributed, namely those who are late, can still submit their contributions to the Provincial Directorate of Family and Solidarity in Tapoa, reiterating that the highest authorities' vision is to always rely on ourselves.
