Complete Kits Distributed for Soap Making and Solar Installation in Gourcy Municipality

Zondoma: In collaboration with the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS), the municipality of Gourcy carried out the handover of 50 soap-making kits and 30 solar system installation kits to IDPs and their hosts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Sahel Community Recovery and Stabilization Project (PCRSS) is dedicated to supporting communities affected by the security crisis to rebuild through the improvement of living conditions.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 50 women's cooperatives and 30 young individuals from the commune of Gourcy received complete kits for soap-making and solar energy system installations, respectively. The official handover ceremony at the Gourcy town hall was presided over by the Secretary General of the Zondoma Province, Anatole Pengdwend Kabor, and attended by the President of the Gourcy Special Delegation, Bosso To Kaba Tr.

"This initiative is part of the Government's commitment to supporting women and young people towards self-employment," stated the Secretary General, urging the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment effectively. The President of the Delegation highlighted the expectation of positive feedback on the equipment's usage.

The young people trained in solar energy were encouraged to apply their skills in villages, benefiting those in need. Limata Savadogo of the Tegawend Group in Minina expressed that the donation will help meet soap demand and improve living conditions through income from sales. Similarly, David Oudraogo, a solar kit recipient, expressed gratitude and committed to making good use of the tools received.

The PCRSS initiative, part of the Burkinabe government, aims to support the resilience and recovery of populations in areas affected by the security crisis.
