Ouagadougou: The conscripts participating in the patriotic immersion program in Koumbia are conducting two days of civic activities. Those called up for mandatory patriotic immersion in the commune of Koumbia carried out civic activities on September 14 and 15, 2026, including sanitation and reforestation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activities began on Monday, September 14th with a ceremony to raise the national colors at the Koumbia town hall. It brought together administrative and municipal authorities, civil society organizations, the Green Brigade, and residents of the municipality.

On Tuesday, September 15, the conscripts cleaned the town hall courtyard before working at the Koumbia Medical Center. These operations were carried out with the support of the Younkalon Association (Green Brigade). The head of the association, Norbert Bonkian, reaffirmed his organization's commitment to supporting citizen initiatives related to sanitation, environmental protection, and community development. The volunteers also carried out a reforestation activity at the Koumbia youth center, planting several saplings.

According to Rachid Oudraogo, coordinator of the patriotic immersion program, the activities aim to allow young people to participate in actions of general interest and to put into practice the values of civic responsibility and community engagement. Speaking on behalf of the municipal authorities, Dofinta Tani, First Vice-President of the Koumbia Special Municipal Delegation, commended the participants' commitment. "If you enter the municipal grounds immediately, everything is clean. This is something that hasn't been done for a long time. So, truly, it's an act to be applauded," he declared. He thanked those involved in the initiative and encouraged the sons and daughters of Koumbia to support actions aimed at improving their living environment.
