Ouagadougou: The Council of Ministers, in a meeting presided over by the President of Faso, Head of State Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has authorized a draft ordinance that provides exceptional advancement for members of the Internal Security Forces. This initiative, which falls under the Ministry of Security, aims to recognize outstanding service.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Security, Divisional Police Commissioner Mahamadou Sana, highlighted the dedication, commitment, and bravery displayed by the Internal Security Forces in their operations. These qualities have at times been demonstrated at great personal risk, ensuring the stability of Burkina Faso.The Minister emphasized the need for measures that enhance motivation, discipline, and operational effectiveness among the forces. The proposed advancements will allow for promotions from rank to rank or elevate personnel to a superior corps as recognition for acts of valor or exceptional services to the Nation. This applies in both peacetime and during crises, armed conflicts, or special missions.The Minister detailed that acts of bravery include actions such as repelling terrorist attacks, engaging in ambushes or sieges on terrorist bases, neutralizing enemies, and reclaiming equipment.According to the Minister Spokesperson for the Government, Pingdwendé Gilbert Ouédraogo, the Council deliberated on and approved several proposals aimed at enhancing the living standards of Burkinabè citizens, aligning with the objectives of the Popular Progressive Revolution.
