Culture: The Gambidi cultural space presents four theater performances at the Ankata Laboratory in Bobo-Dioulasso

As part of the “Route des Arts” tour, the Gambidi cultural space presented on Friday July 7 and Saturday July 8, 2023, four shows at the Ankata Laboratory in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The shows “L’ingérence” and “open two-leaf couple” were presented on Friday July 7, 2023 and the shows “And she was no longer” and “L’Ours” were presented on Saturday July 8, 2023 at the Laboratoire Ankata from Bobo-Dioulasso.

The “Route des Arts” tour is an initiative of the Gambidi cultural space, which organizes it as part of the “Consolidation of Theater Industries in West Africa” (CITAO) project supported by the ACP-EU/AWA Program .

According to the director of the Espace Culturel Gambidi Claude Kira Guingané, the “Route des Arts” tour, created in 2020, “aims to trace a route in Burkina Faso and in the countries of the sub-region”. It took place this year from June 30 to July 8, 2023.

“Tracing a route means taking a route and stopping at the different stages which are big cities so that behind it we can play in these cities, strengthen our ties with the structure that welcomes us and agree with it so that other artists after us, can come and play in these places. It aims to build distribution circuits for artists in general,” he said.

Claude Kira Guingané pointed out that “the first experience (of the “Route des Arts” tour) traced an Ouaga-Bamako route” which led them from Ouagadougou, to Koudougou, to Bobo-Dioulasso, to the city of Ségou in Mali and finally in the city of Bamako, the capital of Mali.

He indicated that this year, they decided to draw a national road in view of the difficult security context in the Sahel. “We therefore traced a route between towns in Burkina, in particular Tenkodogo, Koudougou, Boromo and finally Bobo-Dioulasso”.

According to Mr. Guigané, “the Gambidi cultural space aims, once a year, to trace a route through Burkina and Africa to always connect the Routes of the Arts”.

“The Routes of the Arts, there are thousands of them, they must be woven together, to ensure that artists can travel easily, to facilitate the mobility of artists”, he underlined.

The last stage of this edition of the “La Route des Arts” tour took place in Bobo-Dioulasso in the Ankata Laboratory. The artistic director of the Laboratory Ankata Serge Aimé Coulibaly praised the tour “La Route des Arts” which, according to him, allows “to turn artistic works of beautiful invoices in our cities”.

“In this difficult security context, the population needs to see something else to be able to rediscover themselves and this tour was therefore very important. I had the chance to see the shows, it was a breath of fresh air and a joy to see his four shows,” he said.

On the sidelines of the “La Route des Arts” tour, the Ankata laboratory and the Gambidi cultural space signed a partnership agreement on Friday in Bobo-Dioulasso.
