Dafra Foot Awards Announces 3rd Edition to Honor Burkinabe Football Players

Guiriko: The 3rd edition of the Dafra Foot Awards has been announced for June 27th in Bobo-Dioulasso. The organizing committee of the Dafra Foot Awards officially launched preparations for this ceremony to distinguish Burkinabe football players on Wednesday, during a press conference.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is scheduled for June 27, 2026, starting at 9 p.m. in the Rosario Chiquette room. The ceremony aims to celebrate the performances of local football players and promote the talents of Faso foot. This year, three players are in contention for the prestigious Dafra d’Or trophy: Christophe Ouattara of Rahimo FC, Arnauld Junior Yao of RCK, and Romaric Som© of AJEB.

Lassina Diarra, known as Djalass 1st, the chairman of the organizing committee, emphasized the importance of recognizing the merits of national football actors. ‘After the hard work accomplished throughout the season, the merit of the players in Faso Foot must be recognized, praised, and celebrated. That is why we initiated the Dafra Foot Awards project,’ he stated.

Event promoter Richard Nabi© highlighted that the objective of this distinction is to promote Burkinabe football while offering better visibility to local talents. “We want to develop our players and support them towards professional opportunities outside the country,” he explained.

The organizers have specified that access to the ceremony will be exclusively upon presentation of an invitation.
