Daouda Ben Rachid Keta Takes Office as First Regional Director of LNBTP in Yaadga

Ouahigouya:Daouda Ben Rachid Keta was officially installed as the first Regional Director of the National Laboratory for Building and Public Works (LNBTP) in Yaadga by the Acting Secretary General, Souralhoun Babou Bayili, on Thursday, September 24.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation ceremony in Ouahigouya marked the opening of the new regional directorate. The event was attended by Technical Advisor Adama Nougtara, representing the Governor of Yaadga, and was presided over by Bayili.

The Acting Secretary-General highlighted the significance of this appointment for the LNBTP, an institution that has adapted since its inception in 1968 while maintaining its core mission of serving the nation with scientific expertise. Bayili advised the new director to establish a culture of rigor, integrity, and collaboration in the region.

Keta was encouraged to engage with construction sites, businesses, and communities, emphasizing that geotechnical studies are crucial for cost savings and safety. He expressed that the proximity of the new directorate would enhance support for regional development projects, including soil and foundation studies, construction material quality control, and technical supervision of structures.

Keta called for the support of administrative authorities and regional stakeholders to enable the directorate to fulfill its role. He committed to fostering a collaborative and responsible working environment with his colleagues.

The official start of operations was marked by the provision of technical equipment such as concrete molds, sieves, and a sclerometer. Keta assured that this equipment would be utilized effectively for the infrastructural development of Yaadga, pledging to maintain high standards in geotechnical and structural quality for regional projects.
