Orodara Land Allocation Progresses Smoothly Amid Public Reassurances

Orodara:The President of the Special Delegation of the urban commune, Emmanuel Konat©, addressed the media on Thursday regarding the ongoing municipal housing development in Orodara. He assured the public that the land allocation operation is proceeding without issues.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the subdivision of sectors 4 and 5 in Orodara is part of a joint decree from November 14, 2023, by the ministers responsible for urban planning and territorial administration. This decree authorizes the special delegation to manage the subdivision. Preparatory actions have included meetings with traditional authorities, communication campaigns via local radio, and a census of dwellings and occupants to ensure a smooth process.

More than 4,400 individuals have registered on the site for about 3,896 available plots. The allocation will consider three main criteria the settlement period, household size, and investment by the occupants. These measures aim to maintain a reliable record of residents and minimize disputes. Emmanuel Konat© emphasized that submitting an application does not guarantee a plot, as allocations will be decided by a specially appointed committee.

Not all cleared plots will be reserved for current residents. Some will compensate landowners who ceded their land for the project. Holders of land titles and those with commitments from the former municipal administration will also be considered. The non-refundable subscription fee is set at 25,000 FCFA, and delays in application processing are due to technical constraints currently being addressed. Konat© reassured the public that no major issues have arisen so far in the process.
