Baku: The Di©bougou High Court held a mobile correctional and criminal hearing on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the Ouessa town hall reception hall, thus bringing justice closer to the people of the Ioba province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prosecutor of Faso at the Di©bougou High Court, Idrissa Sebgo, expressed gratitude to the special municipal delegation of Ouessa and its head, Isma«l Sanogo, for their efforts in facilitating the hearing. He also acknowledged the support from the defense and security forces and all involved stakeholders.
Mr. Sebgo emphasized the necessity for justice to be accessible. "Our requests throughout this day will have only one compass: the protection of property, the sanctity of human life and the restoration of social peace," he stated.
Among the cases addressed were one murder case, two cases involving forgery of official documents, and one case of aggravated theft. Following the proceedings, several decisions were made.
In the aggravated theft case, involving a burglary that resulted in damages worth two million three hundred thousand (2,300,000) CFA francs, the defendant received a sentence of seven years imprisonment and a fine of one million (1,000,000) CFA francs, without suspension.
One forgery case, pertaining to acts committed in 2015, resulted in a five-year imprisonment sentence for the accused, with one year suspended. Meanwhile, the other forgery case, involving public documents by an already convicted Ouessa town hall agent, led to an eleven-year imprisonment sentence and a fine of five million (5,000,000) CFA francs, without suspension, and an arrest warrant was issued.
In the murder case, the accused, identified as having mental disorders, was deemed criminally responsible with impaired judgment and sentenced to eleven years imprisonment, including six years mandatory, with medical follow-up.
Beyond these cases, the Court also provided administrative services, such as issuing twenty-nine nationality certificates and correcting a civil status document.
President of the Di©bougou High Court, Ramd© Abel, urged administrative authorities to remain vigilant and encouraged the population to adhere to the law to foster a disciplined and stable Burkina Faso.
