Dissin: Parents and teachers at the Mou-Don©teon primary school in the commune of Dissin (Southwest) have launched an appeal for community solidarity to build a classroom made of sustainable materials to replace a classroom under a straw hut that had become unusable.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in a letter dated June 18, 2025, with a copy to the president of the special delegation of Dissin, to the head of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Dissin, as well as to the Gnowtaar association of Mou, the signatories request the support of the village residents for the construction of a concrete block classroom and a latrine, for an estimated total cost of 3.5 million FCFA.
"The third classroom in our school, once made of straw huts, has become unusable. This situation negatively impacts learning conditions and limits some students' access to education," explain the parents and teachers, supported by the village chief and the Village Development Committee (CVD).
Recruitment of CP1 students did not take place during the past school year, and the situation could recur for the 2025-2026 school year, a parent points out.
Opened in 2010, the Mou-Don©teon school, located in a remote area, hopes that this surge of mobilization will provide a better educational environment for the local children.
