Koosin/drama: Two people died in sector 4 of Nouna, on the night of Sunday, September 13, 2026, in a case of domestic violence. On the night of Sunday, September 13, at around 6 p.m., a 46-year-old man named Sayouba Sore slit the throat of his young wife, Absatou Sore, after a chase in the courtyard and then outside before ending in the bedroom where he managed to subdue his wife after a fierce struggle.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after committing the crime, Sayouba Sore called his friend to inform him of what had happened. His friend immediately went to the scene to assess the situation and offer assistance. Unfortunately, he was met with machete blows and ultimately succumbed to his injuries. After killing his friend, he dragged his body into the flames caused by the fire of the three vehicles, including the one belonging to the victim, Daouda Zalle.
After these acts, Sayouba Sore, visibly agitated, found himself within six meters of his neighborhood. On his way, he encountered a young man whom he attempted to strangle, claiming he wanted to increase his number of victims before taking his own life. Thanks to the intervention of passersby, the young man managed to free himself. Long before this attack, Sayouba Sore had disturbed the peace of the neighborhood, even forcing Muslim worshippers to temporarily interrupt the Maghrib prayer.
After these various acts, he reportedly struck himself violently several times in an attempt to end his life. He also allegedly tried to slit his throat. The intervention of Kassoum Dama, alias "Kassoum Sanso," a Volunteer for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), supported by others, led to the subduing of Sayouba Sore. He was tied up and then handed over to the police for further processing.
Sayouba Sore, a cattle trader originally from Dara, had settled in Nouna with his young wife, a student at the University of Dedougou who had recently passed a health-related exam. The couple had a four-year-old child. Sayouba Sore also has eight other children from three marriages. According to information gathered on site, he particularly admired his wife for her intellectual abilities. However, he had indicated, a few days before the incident, that she was no longer answering his calls.
