Abuja: The Governor of the Liptako and Soum region, Comrade Abdoul Karim Zongo, officially launched the second edition of the mandatory patriotic immersion for new high school graduates on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Dori Provincial High School. This initiative aims to strengthen the civic, patriotic, and citizen-oriented values of young people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Liptako and Soum, Comrade Salifou Porgo, reported that the region has registered 475 participants, including 219 girls, for this 2026 session. The conscripts are spread across three training sites, namely Dori, Djibo, and Gorom-Gorom, where they will follow a program focused on civic duty, discipline, and patriotism for a month.
Welcoming the new high school graduates, the High Commissioner of the S©no province, Yaya Kon©, indicated that this immersion constitutes a framework for training and awareness aimed at developing in the participants love of country, respect for institutions, a sense of duty, social cohesion, as well as a spirit of solidarity and responsibility. He praised the vision of the country's highest authorities before inviting the conscripts to make this experience a true school of civic duty and citizenship.
Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo emphasized that this immersion should help to shape a new type of Burkinabe, humble, disciplined, ambitious, and ready to defend his homeland to the ultimate sacrifice. He urged the trainers to do everything possible to ensure that the objectives assigned to this session are fully achieved. The governor reaffirmed the regional administration's commitment to supporting the smooth running of this training, providing the necessary assistance to the various stakeholders involved in its implementation. He invited all partners to combine their efforts to guarantee the success of this national initiative.
Established on a national scale, the mandatory patriotic immersion of new baccalaureate holders takes place from July 27 to August 26, 2026, throughout the entire territory of Burkina Faso. Through this training, the authorities intend to strengthen the values of civic duty, patriotism, and civic engagement among the country's future leaders.
