Abuja: The reconciliation ceremony intended to seal the peace between the Naba Kouanga of Kindi and the Ranzang Naba of Kougri of Sankanriar©, scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, could not take place due to the absence of the second protagonist mentioned, AIB observed on site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the long-awaited meeting aimed at healing the wounds of a 19-year-old dispute ended in general disappointment for the Zoundi family and the inhabitants of Kindi. Despite the high turnout, the ceremony was marked by the presence of Ouidi Naba, minister of the canton of Lall©, along with princes, traditional dignitaries of Kindi, administrative authorities, and a crowd of citizens seeking social cohesion.

The event was specifically requested by the Ranzangue Naba of Sankanriar© himself to promote the happiness of the people, yet his absence was notable. Naba Kouanga detailed the origins of the nearly two-decade-long dispute and the significance of the day. He emphasized that this reconciliation process was in response to actions deemed contrary to customary practices and harmful to the fragile peace in Kindi. Consequently, he had reached out to the relevant administrative authorities for clarification on everyone's roles.

Ouidi Naba expressed regret over the Ranzangue Naba's absence, highlighting that his presence would have contributed to restoring peace among the inhabitants of Kindi. Similarly, the Ranzangue Naba's direct elder brother voiced his strong indignation at the missed opportunity.

To conclude the meeting, Naba Kouanga announced that ongoing legal proceedings would continue to their conclusion. He also expressed hopes for a favorable rainy season despite current rainfall shortages and urged all residents to set aside divisive sentiments, aiming for a lasting return of peace to the Kindi commune.
