Education Initiative in Ziro: Provincial Mock Exam and CM1 Level Test Launched

Ouagadougou: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Ziro has officially launched a provincial mock exam, a key educational initiative aimed at strengthening the preparation of candidates for the Primary School Certificate (CEP) session 2026. This activity is coupled with a level test for CM1 students. The opening ceremony, marked by the opening of the first envelope, was held at the Sapouy Public Primary School A, under the chairmanship of Mr. Albert Degyoumda, representing the Provincial Director, in the presence of the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Sapouy, teachers, and students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Degtoumda stated that this dual initiative is part of a continuous improvement process for academic performance. "The mock exam allows CEP candidates to familiarize themselves with the actual exam conditions. As for the CM1 level test, it aims to assess students' knowledge early on in order to better prepare the next generation. Our objective remains to achieve a 95% pass rate on the 2026 CEP," he explained.

The Head of the Sapouy Basic Education District praised the relevance of the activity, which considers both exam-year and intermediate-year students. "This approach is beneficial because it allows us to act at the grassroots level. CM1 students thus benefit from an assessment of their level, which will facilitate better support for their transition to CM2," he emphasized, while encouraging CEP candidates to demonstrate concentration and rigor.

For the headmistress of School A in Sapouy, the choice of her school to host the launch of this activity is a sign of confidence. "We are honored to host this ceremony. We are committed to effectively supporting both CEP candidates and CM1 students. We urge all learners to work diligently to improve their performance," she stated.

Through this combined initiative, the Provincial Directorate intends not only to optimize short-term results, but also to lay the foundations for the sustainable success of the education system in the province of Ziro.
