Education Stakeholders in Zorgho Introduced to Complaints Management System

Zorgho:An awareness session was organized by the Directorate of Legal Affairs and Litigation (DAJC) of the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN) for education stakeholders in the Zorgho Basic Education District (CEB). The session aimed to familiarize participants with the operation of the Customer Service Unit (USC) and the management of litigation to enhance proactive complaints management and reduce administrative disputes.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the awareness session was part of the annual Pedagogical Conference for Preschool and Primary School Teachers. It gathered education stakeholders to discuss mechanisms for managing complaints and preventing disputes within the ministry.

Nobila Clestine Zagr/Zoungrana, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Ganzourgou, representing the Regional Director of Oubri, emphasized the USC's role in improving administrative governance. She noted that the mechanism provides a framework for receiving complaints and resolving disputes amicably to prevent litigation.

Lamoussa Bamogo, a mission officer from MEBAPLN, underscored the importance of strengthening the understanding of the USC among education system actors. He stated that the system promotes accountability, facilitates dialogue between the administration and users, and fosters a climate of trust.

The USC was initially launched as part of an economic governance and citizen participation project in 2016 at the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Housing, and the Ministry of Health were later included in the pilot phase. Despite eight years of operation, Bamogo pointed out that the system remains unfamiliar to many stakeholders, highlighting the need for such awareness sessions.

During the meeting, two presentations were delivered. Kiswendsida Daouda Sawadogo, the head of the legal monitoring service, presented on the USC and complaint management procedures. Abdoulaye Konat led the second presentation, focusing on litigation management and prevention at MEBAPLN. The discussions that followed allowed participants to address any uncertainties.

The DAJC aims to improve complaint handling and dispute prevention within the educational administration through these interactions.
